FEATHER STRoking

“Feathering” is a manual method that ensures perfect and natural looking eyebrows. Choosing this technique will give you control over the appearance of your brows, allowing a flawless and realistic looking result. Furthermore, feathering rules out any concern about mechanical errors; usual mistakes made while working with a machine. It is also known as the least painful technique, another reason to why it is in such demand.

Feathering – the new semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo trend has gained a lot of recognition and interest in the past year. This technique involves drawing each individual hair stroke onto the client’s eyebrows until the desired fullness and shape is achieved. An initial consultation to design the shape and a perfection appointment to touch up any fading is usually required to ensure color lock in and lasting results.

The results are amazing, and so natural looking that it is very hard to notice if any sort of procedure has been done. With the use of the  feather touch tattoo tool, our therapists are able to achieve the most feather-light, hairlike lines to mimic the client’s own brow hair.

When is it a right time to do my touch up?

Touch up’s should be done minimum 4-6 weeks post the initial treatment. This allows time for eyebrows to heal fully before perfecting them for the second time. Free touch-ups are only valid up to 3 months from initial procedure date. It is very important that clients prioritize their touch up just as much as their initial treatment as this can affect obtaining the best results possible.

How do I care for my brows after the first and second sessions?

After your appointments, you should keep your eyebrows moistened with Aquaphor for 10 days. For the first 3 days, you should not wet your eyebrows, sweat, wear makeup or touch them at all.  After the first 3 days, you may wash your brows with mild soap and a light touch, not disturbing the ink. You will feel the sensation to itch or pick the scabs...REFRAIN!  After 10 days,  use minimal amounts of Aquaphor as they heal.

When would I need to get an another touch up?

It all depends on how well your skin absorbs the ink, and/or fades. This is determined by a number of factors which comes into play such as exposure to sun, laser, certain medications, skin type etc. We can  advise if another touch up is needed but eyebrows would have to be assessed. For clients who have oily skin or participate in activities that involve swimming in chlorine water or constant exposure to the sun, a touch up every six months would be advised.

Can I wax or thread after I get feathering done?

Yes you can, however we recommend cleaning around the feather strokes to ensure the strokes do not fade quicker than usual.

Should I wax my eyebrows before getting them feathered?

Prior to the procedure we tweeze the eyebrows area clean. If you get your eyebrows waxed make sure it is done 2-3 days prior to your appointment. However, please ensure you leave the hairs which are close to your eyebrow shape. The more hairs we have to work amongst, the more natural looking the result will be.

Can I do this procedure whilst pregnant?

We don’t recommend getting your eyebrows feathered whilst pregnant or breastfeeding due to the anesthetic in the numbing cream we use prior to the procedure.

Is it done with a machine?

The beauty of feathering is that it requires no electronic or vibrating machine! With the simple use of a hand-tool and blade we are able to create fine hair strokes following the direction of your hair growth.
